Real Madrid has finally signed Brazilian starlet Marcelo for five seasons. The operation, that will cost around seven million euros, became more complicated than expected since Sevilla overbidded the White House in a late offer. In the end, Fluminense and the player agreed terms with Madrid.

The only thing remaining to be decided is whether the young player will join them in January or June.

The player's agents, Fluminense and Madrid officials were holding talks in the Spanish capital city this last weekend, when Sevilla suddenly burst in with an 8 million euros offer for Marcelo.

Still, all sides claim that the agreement was never under threat, and Marcelo always made it clear that he wanted to play in Madrid.
