Juventus star to miss out on Euro championships

Juventus star Allesandro Del Piero could miss out on the Euro 2004 Championships this summer. After limping out of last nights champions league exit with a suspected calf injury, Del Piero could be in real danger of missing Italy's campaign.

It has been a bad season for the Juve star, who would no doubt have loved the chance to make up for his misses in the last European final, which saw France lift the trophy after Italy had dominated and Del Piero himself missed 2 golden oportunites to put the game beyond the French.

Italy would seam to have a ready made replacement in the shape of Roma's Antonio Cassano, who was already the feature of an Italian press campaign to be a member of the Italian side for Portugal.

This could have made Trap's descision easier. But what of the Juventus star? He has suffered down the years from a variety of injuries, could this be the one to cost him the most?
