Roma crash out: Match report

Despite the tag of tournament favourites Roma crashed out of the Uefa cup, suffering defeat at the hands of Villarreal over the 2 games. Roma did manage a victory last Night but it wasn't enough to keep them in the competition.

Roma were of course 2-0 down going into the match, but things started well enough with midfielder Emerson netting after just 10 minutes. A 50th minute strike by Cassano looked to be sending the game into extra time, when Jose Mari played a cross to Anderson who sent the ball past Pelizzoli.

The night got worse for Roma as Jonathan Zebina was sent off for a bad takle in the 69th minute.
