AS Roma were banned from playing one home match following the riots whiched marred the Rome derby. They are forced to play their next home game at a neutral venue which is still to be announced.
In the riots that followed the Derby more than 100 police officers were injured, both the clubs concerned have also recieved fines.
"It was the strangest situation I had to deal with," said Maurizio Laudi, the judge who handled the case. "Roma have chosen a different solution from the best modern models but they did not break any rule. The players didn't want to resume playing but it's not a disciplinary infringement considering the situation and the environment."
