Are Chelsea about to move for Del Piero

Rumour and counter-rumours are gathering pace that Chelsea are switching their attentions from one Italian superstar to another for a planned summer raid.

After more or less giving up hope on landing Totti, this week and having been given a no chance quote from AC Milan as for their chances of landing Shevchenko, it looks like Abramovich could very well be turning his eyes towards Turin and Del Piero.

Del Piero is a very special player and would without a doubt be their biggest signing to date, at the moment they are just rumours, and rumours that a lot of Juventus fans will be unhappy with.

But they are gathering pace, it is being suggested that Mutu would go to Turin as part of any deal, plus cash. But next season may see a true Italian superstar lighting up the premership.
