Inter and Spurs lose out to Chelsea for Davids

Reports are suggesting that Chelsea have won the race to sign Dutchman Edgar Davids. Spurs had been widely tipped as the destination for the midfielder should he move to England, but it now appears that Chelsea have nipped in and stole the player from under the noses of their London rivals.

In fact Chelsea are expected to announce the signing any time now. But you have to ask if this is a snatch and grab act by Chelsea or a long thought out deal, with the other clubs used as a smoke screen.

Right up until yesterday there were still quotes that it was between Spurs and Inter, indeed at one point it appeared to be Inter, then another twist in this saga, see's him almost certianly joining Chelsea.

Maybe one note of caution though, nothing is ever as it seams when it comes to Edgar Davids, he likes to play the press as an illusionist would. It seams to be Chelsea, but until the press conference I will remain not entirely convinced.
