Inter Milan are ready to line up a bid to bring Manchester City’s Nicolas Anelka to the San Siro. He had been the subject of Monaco’s interest but their offer to take the French international on loan for the season was said to be ‘a joke’ by manager Kevin Keegan.

But Massimo Moratti is convinced that he can lure the unsettled striker to Italy and is preparing to pounce. Anelka of course had a less than successful time in Spain, but Moratti feels that the player has the quality and skill to take on Serie A.

Inter are desperate to win the championship this year after so many years in the wilderness and have embarked on an all out push in that direction Anelka could very well be just another piece in the puzzle.
