Newcastle Close in on Tudor

According to the Gazzetta della Sport and La Repubblica, Newcastle United are closing in on Croatian international Igor Tudor. He has moved to the top of their most likely departure scenarios for January.

It is rumoured that he will cost Newcastle around three million. While he has undoubted class and a cool head, which could be just what Newcastle need, his injury record has to be a worry for the Geordies.

As a Newcastle fan I am happy enough about the arrival of a fit Tudor, I do have my doubts about how long he will stay fit though, and I have to question why we are suddenly willing to pay three million for a player, that we could have had for free, last summer.
