Spurs and Celtic close in on Anderlecht Star

Midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson, is about to be the centre of a transfer wrangle between Spurs of the Premiership and Celtic in Scotland. Spurs are currently favourites to land the player at least as far as the player is concerned.

Wilhelmsson favours a move to the Premiership, but Anderlecht would rather he switched to Celtic as they have a close relationship with the Scottish side.

The 25 year old Swedish international has a contract that runs until 2007, but is currently in dispute with his club and wants out. He has been a star in his time at Anderlecht and hopes to make the transition to Britain sooner rather than later.

He would end up costing around 2.5 million, but if he does make the necessary transition, then he will be a bargain.
