West Brom land Brescia star

West Brom have completed the signing of Argentine midfielder Matias Almeyda on a free from Brescia. The player is actually owned by Inter Milan but had moved to Brescia on loan to try for a fresh start.

But the fresh start never quite materialised and he went on to fall out with just about everyone from the manager to the fans, so he will be hoping the move will be the beginning of happier times.

He is of course Bryan Robson first signing, since becoming West Brom manager and if Almeyda can regain some of the form that saw Parma fork out more than 16 million for his services a few years ago then he will have a good one.

The player’s talent has never been in question, although his attitude often has, still when he is happy, he is a great player. Time will tell if he will be happy at West Brom.
