Juventus centre-half Nicola Legrottaglie is being heavily linked in the Italian press with a move to Newcastle United and the defender himself has admitted that he would favour a move to the premiership and has declared that he would be willing to leave Juventus in January.

He has struggled this season to make any impression what so ever under Fabio Capello and had been linked with various moves, including Southampton and Roma. But the Italian press think his favoured destination would be Newcastle United.

The player himself was quoted as saying:

"I don’t think I arrived at Juventus at the best time,” I have not been able to play regularly and I've often been injured.

"Maybe the best decision I can make is a change of direction.

"I haven't spoken with Juventus about the January market. But if an offer arrives, I will consider it.

"Premiership football appeals to me. Though Roma would also be a great solution."
