Valencia confirm Liverpool interest in defender

Valencia have confirmed that Liverpool are interested in signing veteran Argentinian stopper Mauricio Pellegrino who will be available on a free transfer. His current deal runs until the end of the season, but he is anxious to leave in January.

Valencia director Manuel Llorente stated:

"Pellegrino's agent has told us Liverpool are interested in the player but the move has yet to Materialise,"

"The player has a contract until June but we have agreed with Pellegrino to allow him to field offers from other clubs and will allow him to leave on a free transfer."
