Barcelona confirm interest in Spurs Striker

Barcelona have admitted that they are interested in bringing Fredi Kanoute to Spain. They are looking for someone to fill the gap left by the injured Henrik Larsson and feel Kanoute is the man to do it.

Speaking to the daily Star Barca's sporting director Txiki Beguiristain stated:

"At the moment Kanoute is an option for the technical staff and coach to study, but nothing has been determined,”

"Kanoute is a good player who is a force in our game and has a European passport which is a point in his favour."

"But we have still not spoken with Tottenham about him."
