Liverpool edge closer to Morientes

Liverpool could finally be about to sign Real Madrid Striker Fernando Morientes if reports in Spain prove to be true. The deal would see the striker joining the Anfield club for about 6.5 million.
Morientes had not wanted to leave Real Madrid and there had seemed a ray of hope with new boss Wanderley Luxemburgo insisting he would not sell to Liverpool and that he wanted a long hard look at the striker.
But Morientes wanted guaranteed first team football and Madrid simply can’t offer those sorts of Guarantees, so the striker appears to be finally on his way to Liverpool.
And he may not be the only Madrid player making the journey Real's reserve goalkeeper Cesar may also be a target for Liverpool, in a deal worth half a million.
