German and French reports are today stating that Bayern Munich defender Sammy Kuffour is finally ready to open talks with Newcastle, at least according to his agent.
Newcastle are widely believed to have agreed of Ł500,000 with Bayern for the Ghana international, if these reports are indeed correct, it would signal an end to Newcastle’s pursuit of Manchester City's Sylvain Distin.
"Still nothing has been decided by Newcastle, but we expect to be talking to them within the next couple of days," Kuffour's agent Fabio Parisi stated.
"When that happens, then we can discuss things like personal terms perhaps early next week.
"There is still nothing official from them and I was in Newcastle only to hear what they have to say. There were no official talks and certainly nothing has been signed or agreed."
"He is out of contract at the end of the season and he wants to try a new experience,"
“He is very interested in Newcastle and Newcastle seam very interested in him, so we will have to see what happens.”
"But there are other clubs in the Premiership, and in Spain and Italy, who are interested in him."
