Spurs are still trying to secure the services of Pius Ikedia, despite the player signing a contract AZ Alkmaar. He is actually owned by Ajax, but has spent his time there on loan to various clubs and as he is a free agent for the summer, was allowed to enter into a pre-contract agreement.
He had a chance to move to Spurs earlier this month but chose to sign a pre-contract with Dutch leaders AZ Alkmaar, now however the player has changed his mind and his agent and insists that he wants to now Join Spurs.
Frank Arnesen quoted as saying:
"I admit we have a big interest in Ikedia and that we have spoken to him in London.” "But I deny he has signed a contract with the club.
"I accept it's a very awkward situation, especially for the player."
His new agent joining in and saying:
"I accept the player will not stay in Holland and is keen to sign for Tottenham.
"But this is a complete mess."
But AZ are willing to put up a fight and hold him to his pre-contract:
"Pius Ikedia has signed a three-year contract with this club and there is no way he is going to Tottenham," AZ director of football Martin van Geel blasted. “
