Newcastle United: Kluivert happy

In what is fast becoming a week to forget for Newcastle fans, one player is at least happy on Tyneside. Patrick Kluivert and his agent have been to the press in the last few days to state as much.

First his agent Paul Foortse speaking to Nieuwe Revu speaking of Patrick’s friends at Barcelona stated:

“They would prefer he went out with them drinking, rather than being at home for the next days training.”

“I will be honest with you; Patrick is a very loyal person. That’s why we had to get him away from these so called friends. We had to protect Patrick from them.”

Then Kluivert himself speaking to the Spanish press stated:

“I am very happy where I am, I would like to be playing more regularly, but this is the happiest I have felt as a person, since leaving Holland.”

“The people up here a friendly and I am left alone for probably the first time in my life, I am settled and all this talk of leaving is nonsense, I want to show what I am capable of, and given time I will do that.”

“The people up here are wonderful and I intend to reward them, I have no desire to leave, why would I, it’s a great club.”

He refused to get drawn in to the current argument between Bellamy and the club, stating:

“It’s not good when anyone falls out with there employers, but at the end of the day, we are here to do a job, it’s as simple as that.”
