El Torres bullish about Barcelona

Like a matador facing a bull. A sweep of gold, a flash of red, an expectant crowd locked in a stadium feasting their eyes on an event that harks back to man’s primeval urges, steps forward a man.

An expectant hush takes over the stadium and the Catalan giants unveil Atlético striker Fernando Torres.

At least they will if Torres gets his wish, nay dream, a move to Barcelona. While it was always on the cards for the firmly committed Atlético Madrid star, to refuse a move to his near neighbours, it now appears he would welcome a move to those other Spanish giants Barcelona.

In a candid interview he spoke of his pride of being connected with Barcelona and his hopes that they will make their move for him in the summer.

"I am very proud that Barcelona, the fact that they are sweeping the league right now, and are focusing on me."
.
"They are the best team in La Liga and one of the best in Europe and it fills me with satisfaction that they are interested in me.”

"It encourages you to keep working hard. “

"My head is still with Atlético Madrid, but if one day I had to leave to go elsewhere, Barcelona would be the only Spanish team I would go to.”

"It would be a step forward, going to other teams would be a step backwards.”

"It’s clear that I’m sacrificing playing in the Champions League for other things by playing for Atletico Madrid.”

"I still have a bit to do here. Maybe at the end of the season I will make the move, but we might win the Copa del Rey and then it wouldn’t be the right moment."

Whether Barcelona could actually afford him would be debatable though with a massive €90million buy out clause in effect on the player. But as the agent said, life is negotiable, only some things are more negotiable than others.
