Southampton: Hello my name’s Sven; Sving

Southampton’s Anders Svensson is about to do the opposite of all the girls in the only sort of Swedish movies I watch and say no to a new contact….er sorry I meant contract. Although his future at St Mary’s (who was definitely not in those sort of films) has been in doubt for some time.

But news had been filtering through that he was about to be offered a new contract by the Southampton Chairman, but speaking to Sportbladet (which I am not 100% sure on, but if I ever catch it I am off to see a doctor) stated:

"I have heard from the chairman that they plan to offer a new contract but unfortunately I can't see any future there.”

He goes on to admit that he does not quite know what the future holds for him at the moment:

"What my agent and I are working on right now, we keep to ourselves," he added. "But nothing is signed. “

"I have to concentrate on the remaining league matches. We have got a tough time ahead of us."

Right I am off to watch that Swedish movie where death wanders around playing chess with people, and people better be getting their kit off if I am to be stuck with culture.
