Liverpool and Everton target rejects new contract

Long time Liverpool, Everton and Bolton target Malaga defender Juanito, yesterday rejected a new contract with the La Liga side, sparking new gossip that he will be moving to the Premiership come the summer, with Liverpool reportedly in pole position to sign the player.

He was offered a four year deal by the Spanish club, but rejected it out of hand, while leaving the door open that he could remain in Spain, the Spanish press seem convinced he is Liverpool bound in the summer.

He would of course arrive out of contract and on a free, which would be good business from Liverpool’s point of view, but a nightmare scenario for Malaga, who will get nothing for arguably one of their most saleable assets.
