Italy move for Liverpool striker?

According to the Italian press, both Fiorentina and Palermo are keeping a close eye on the situation between Milan Baros and Liverpool. The player was quoted at the weekend admitting that he would look to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, should he not be playing regularly.

Fiorentina have had a long standing interest in the Czech Republic international, and indeed were close to securing a loan deal for the player during the January transfer window, only to see the deal collapse, when Liverpool could not guarantee themselves a replacement before the closure of the transfer window.

Now Palermo are entering the frame again, having failed to sign Baros last summer president Maurizio Zamparini, is keen to try again this summer stating:

“We will monitor the situation closely, when a player of this quality becomes available, we will of course be interested.”

“There has been no formal contact as of yet, but should the situation remain, where he is not playing regularly, we will contact Liverpool.”

Never the less Fiorentina are likely to be favourites to capture Baros and feel he will adapt well to life in Serie A.
