Juventus and French legend Michel Platini yesterday revealed just how close he came to joining Spurs or Arsenal back in 1982. So close in fact his wife was set on a move to London and although in the end he went to Italy and fame with Juventus, he admitted to a case of what if?
Speaking to Reuters: "I had proposals from English clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham and my wife wanted to go to London."
"But I decided against it because you play too many games in England, and I went to Italy."
"When you don't have a winter break, you can't be at your highest level when the spring comes."
"Actually, you are injury prone and the team cannot be at its best. You don't have such a heavy schedule in Italy. In five years in Serie A, I was never injured."
“But there is still a small part of me that wonders what it would life in England would have been like.”
