A Lazio move for Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia could very well be on the cards at the end of the season, with Lazio president Claudio Lotito keeping a close eye one the situation at Liverpool.

A Lazio move for Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia could very well be on the cards at the end of the season, with Lazio president Claudio Lotito keeping a close eye one the situation at Liverpool.

It is widely expected that Hyypia will be allowed to leave Anfield in the summer, when large scale changes are expected to be made by Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez. Liverpool are disappointed to be without a realistic chance of winning anything this year and even Champions League qualification is a long shot.

However it could all still depend on Rafa Benitez still being Liverpool manager, with strong interest coming in him from Real Madrid, although he has scoffed at these rumours, sources in Spain believe he could yet be tempted.
