Chelsea in good Kompany?

According to Anderlecht, Chelsea are the only side to officially express an interest in 18-year-old defender Vincent Kompany. Although once the player does decide its time to move on from Anderlecht, they are unlikely to be alone, they have managed to place themselves in pole position.

Their president Roger Vanden Stock speaking to Het Nieuwsblad stated:


"The only club which has contacted us is Chelsea."

But he has not decided that he would definitely be going in the summer, stating:

"I hope to still keep him for a year.”

"I see two possibilities: Vincent himself says he is not yet ready to go to a top European club and wants to simply remain in Anderlecht for another year.”

"Or we sell him, but reach an agreement with his new club to keep him here for a season."

"I am hopeful because we still have not had a concrete offer."
