And our footballers complain about being booed

In Europe as a whole a player thinks himself unlucky if he is booed by his own fans, so spare a thought for Brazilian side Portuguesa, who were attacked by a group of about 50 of their own fans, who broke past security guards following a 2-1 defeat on Wednesday.

Apparently the players noticed some fans approaching the locker room and went out to confront them and were attacked, with the players having to use pieces of wood to protect themselves, the fight eventually ended when the police turned up.

No-one is thought to have been seriously injured.
