Barcelona to move for Birmingham star

Walter Pandiani, currently on loan at Birmingham is set to become a Barcelona target according to the Spanish press. Birmingham were hoping to make his loan deal from Deportivo La Coruna permanent. But they may struggle in this now that Barcelona are entering the fray.

Barca are keen to re-enforce their striking ranks, as questions remain over Henrik Larsson’s full-recovery from a knee injury, and as much as Maxi Lopez has excited in patches this season, he still lacks experience at this level.

It would also of course be a chance to re-unite Pandiani with his former strike partner Samuel Eto’o, they enjoyed a very fruitful partnership when they were both at Mallorca and Barcelona would be hoping that they could take over where they left off.
