Del Piero: London calling

According to the Italian press Chelsea have made contact over that availability of Alessandro Del Piero, with Spurs and Arsenal expected to do the same over the coming weeks.
Juventus are still insisting, in public anyway, that Del Piero is not for sale, but privately bot the club and the player realise that his time at the club is over and a move is expected in the summer.
Indeed to that end Del Piero has been talking about the possibility of a move to London for a couple of weeks now and sources close to the star are privately saying he would happily play for one of the London trio of Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham.
He has also had offers from Japan, where he wouldn’t have to take a pay cut as a move to England would entail, but he wants to continue at the highest level for as long as possible and the J-League simply do not offer that sort of incentive to the player.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants to make a big-name signing over the summer and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fancies Del Piero as a replacement for Jose Reyes, both clubs are expected to make contact shortly, but for now, its Chelsea in the driving seat.
