Manchester United tipped for Lyon duo

Lyon’s Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien, has long been a target for Manchester United, but it is widely believed that they are planning a double swoop and will attempt to lure winger Florent Malouda to Old Trafford.

They had the pair watched in UEFA Champions League quarter final with PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday and they are understood to have impressed.

Essien will set them back around 14 million, while 5 million should secure the services of Malouda.
