Liverpool star rules out homecoming move Vladimir Smicer has stated that he feels a return to former club Lens is very unlikely, once his Liverpool contract ends.
He spent three years at Lens before joining Liverpool, but he simply does not feel that a return there is an option at the moment.
Vladimir Smicer speaking to Lidove Noviny stated:
"I have never said that [I will rejoin Lens]."
It's a truth I will probably leave The Reds but it's still open to where I will go.
"I don't have exact offers. Two or three offers are from England and the same number from France.
"I haven't talked about the names and I don't want to.
"Yes they [Lens] asked me, I talked with them, that's a truth but a deal? It's a long shot.
"I don't think it would be the best choice to return to Lens. We won the French league, the French Cup.
"And people there would expect more from me than I would have been able to fulfil. Perhaps it would be better to start somewhere from scratch."
