Both Malaga and Villarreal are willing to challenge Bolton over the signing of El Hadji Diouf. Bolton want to hang on to the player once his loan deal expires, but have already hinted that they think Liverpool’s four million pound valuation, is to high.

This could allow the Spanish clubs to step in and tempt Diouf to La Liga. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez confirmed that other clubs were chasing his player stating:

"Diouf has played well at Bolton but, like the other players out on loan, maybe he's not good enough for us in the future, or at least he might only be good enough for us to offer him a place on the bench.”

"People at Bolton think there's no other interest in him, but we have had two or three teams express an interest in Diouf.”

"We will see what happens in the summer."
