Arsenal star looks to French switch

Arsenal star Robert Pires has stated that he would happily consider a switch to Lyon, should he be unable to come to terms on a new contract with Arsenal.

His current contract finishes at the end of next season and he is yet to enter into discussions regarding a new one.

“I know Lyon would have liked to acquire me at the last winter transfer break,” said Pires speaking to The Sun.

“It would be nice and it is not something you turn down.”

“Why not team up with my old mate Sylvain Wiltord again? I am open to everything, to all offers. “

“For the moment I have a season left with Arsenal. I'd like to stay and I hope things are going the right way.”

“We'll see what Arsenal are going to decide.”
