Inter star to Newcastle deal?

Reports in Italy are claiming that Inter Milan’s Emre is as good as a Newcastle player, with the Tyneside club planning a summer swoop for the Turk.

Souness has spoken of his admiration for the player in the past, although it has to be said not for a good while, and it was thought that Chelsea would be offered Emre in part exchange for Veron.

But reports this evening suggest that Newcastle are now in pole position to land the tricky midfielder, who has fell out with Inter in similar, although less spectacular terms as Bellamy has at Newcastle.
