De Jong Off To Manchester United?

Manchester United have informed about the availability of Ajax star Nigel De Jong according to Dutch daily 'Algemeen Dagblad'. The Amsterdam outfit are reluctant to let the Holland international go.

'We have no intentions of selling De Jong' stated Ajax director Arie Van Eijden. 'His contract is running until the summer of 2006 and in our opinion he is a very important player for Ajax. That's why we won't put a pricetag around his neck, we want to keep him here, that's evident'.

The young defender recently rejected a contract extension from Ajax. Although De Jong is back in the Ajax starting XI since Blind took over as manager, he's not happy with the club officials who didn't keep their promises during the Koeman era.
