Portsmouth in for Israeli star

Israeli international Yaniv Katan is getting set to have talks with Portsmouth with a view to a summer move. The striker who currently plays for Maccabi Haifa is prepared to quit his homeland to play in England.

And Portsmouth, expecting the loss of Yakubu in the summer are prepared to gamble on the player and give him his chance in the Premiership.

Milan Mandaric stated:

"We're having dialogue with Maccabi over Yaniv."

"We know him very well and we need to strengthen up-front."
