At last Newcastle linked with a player I actually

After months of being linked with just about everyone about, a link that has me excited, that if it materialises is a step forward, and not backwards (as many of the players we have been linked with recently).

The player in question is Lyon striker Sidney Govou. Govou will be leaving the Stade Gerland at the end of the season and Newcastle are allegedly at the head of the queue to sign him.

While keeping the normal level of scepticism high, this is a player that would be a massive improvement on what we currently have, still hungry (unlike wor Paddy who has managed to stock up on the pies if nothing else during his stay on Tyneside).

(And speaking of Paddy, I could have done with a bit of warning he was leaving, my Greggs shares have plummeted)

Still young enough not to require the club Zimmer frame and most importantly of all talented, I will go as far as damn talented.
Yes all in all, if Govou does indeed sign, it will be a good start, I want and need more, buts it’s the right place to start.
