Chelsea face competition from 5 clubs for Italian

Alberto Gilardino is fast becoming one of Europe’s most wanted men, with at least six clubs willing to battle it out for his signature in the summer. Milan, Juventus and Internazionale are all determined to keep him in Italy.

While Chelsea are hoping their billions can persuade him to England. Madrid are keen to have him in Spain, in fact the pack chasing Gilardino reads like a who’s who of European football.

Speaking to Radio Italia Network Parma's coach Pietro Carmignani stated:

"There are three Italian clubs and three foreign teams interested in Gilardino."

"Whoever offers us the most will be in the strongest position."

"Gilardino could stay at Parma if a new shareholder arrives."

"Alberto is a good professional and he always tries to give his best."
