Germans want smart ball to foil cheating English

Germany are pressing FIFA-boss Sepp Blatter into trying to adopt a ball for the 2006 World Cup, to help solve close calls as to whether the ball actually crossed the line or not.

The Germans are still bitter over the goal that was allowed to stand in the 1966 World cup, that has been shown to have never crossed the line since.

The ball has been developed by Adidas and will be tested before the finals, should the tests go alright, there is a strong possibility that it will be introduced in time for Germany 2006.
