Italian giants enter Inter Toto

Newcastle United will not be alone as a big club in the Inter Toto as Lazio announce they will also enter the competition. Although an excepted route into Europe it is often shunned by the bigger clubs, who would usually expect to get there through league position alone.

But President Claudio Lotito, is willing to take the same stance as the Newcastle Chairman and enter his side in the unpopular (at least amongst players and their summer holidays) tournament.

The official statement read:

“I’m happy to reveal that we shall not participate in the preliminary round of the Coppa Italia, but we shall take part in the Intertoto.”
