Down under for Teddy?

West Ham and former Spurs and Manchester United star Teddy Sheringham, looks like he could be heading Down Under to play in Australia’s Hyundai A-League.

The chief executive of Queensland Roar Lawrence Oudendyk and their coach Miron Bleiberg have both admitted that they have been in contact with Sheringham.

Speaking to the clubs website Bleiberg stated:

'He is one of the best known forwards in the English game and would give us an old head in what is a very young squad.

'We are looking for a target man and English players are best known for their ability to play in this role.'

'The fact is that players in England can still command large salaries even in the lower divisions over there.

'We can get a South American player for a fraction of the cost and that has to be a major consideration for us.

'We are looking for a special player but we do not want to break our pay structure in the process as we have a salary cap that we have to stick to.'
