Liverpool come up short for Southampton star

The words short and Peter Crouch are not often used in the same sentence, the striker is about 14 foot tall although lesser, more sane writers tend to insist he is a dwarf like 6ft 7in.

But whatever height he is or is not, what is fact is Liverpool have had a 5 million pound bid turned down for the striker.

Southampton chairman Lowe stated on the clubs official website:

"There has been a lot of interest in Peter Crouch and we have had an offer which we have turned down."

"We want to keep the squad together and the relegation clauses in players' contracts mean we do not need to sell. Our destiny remains in our own hands."

So unless they are telling tall tales, they will have to heighten the price, unless of course Southampton shorten....ok I will stop now.
