Villarreal sign Argentine starlet

Villarreal has signed promising Argentinian goalkeeper Mariano Barbosa for 3 years, who will receive 2 million euros. Barbosa (aged 20) currently plays for Banfield and will travel to Spain as soon as his team ends its participation in Copa Libertadores.

Barbosa has been capped for the U-20 national team in the 2003 World Cup and was said to have attracted the interest of important teams such as Inter Milan.

He has played very well recently for his team Banfield, that has made it to Copa Libertadores quarterfinals,against River Plate, a historic achievement for this club.
