Spurs Vs Chelsea the war continues

The war of words between Spurs and Chelsea show little sign of slowing down following a weekend that saw Spurs supremo Daniel Levy label former Director of Football Frank Arnesen ‘a traitor:

“Our supporters have openly used the word betrayal and I have to say that it’s probably appropriate,” fumed Daniel Levy.

It is being said that Spurs are demanding a figure somewhere in the region of fifteen million pounds, with Chelsea prepared to offer just two million, it appears that the clubs are miles apart in their respective valuations of the situation.

Another solution being touted is Scott Parker and five million pounds, but this looks like a none starter as Parker, appears to prefer a switch to Newcastle, and Chelsea are publicly anyway, denying that they will consider going anywhere near Spurs’ valuation.

All that remains is to see whether Spurs will lodge an official complaint to the FA, which if proved, would almost certainly see Chelsea docked points at the beginning of next season.

And it would appear that the case has made unique bedfellows of Spurs and Arsenal with Arsene Wenger stating in the Times:

“Fighting Chelsea is like fighting a club which has no rules.”

“This thing with Cole is not right. If we applied business rules, Chelsea wouldn’t have the right to function as a club.

“The problem is Chelsea are a financially doped club. It puts pressure on a market that is not very healthy.”
