Nurnberg has landed Argentine left back Javier Pinola on loan from Atlético de Madrid for a year. The player will join the German side in July after the Argentinian Torneo Clausura is over. He currently plays for Racing Club on loan from Atlético.
Nurnberg have already started to look ahead towards next season. Martin Bader, sports director, stated that Argentine is the type of player they were looking for.
"Javier fits the profile of a young player, but he has gathered experience playing for other teams."
Pinola, aged 22 and 1.80 metres tall, signed for Atlético de Madrid three years ago. He said:
"I have known about Nurnberg's interest for a while, and coach Wolfgang Wolf talked me into the transfer. I have also spoken to other fellow Argentinian footballers who have played in the Bundesliga and they recommended me to sign for them."
"When I signed for Atlético three years ago I was very young and now I'd like to prove that I can play well in Europe too."
