Saviola unlikely to return to Barca says coach

Javier Saviola who has previously been a target of both Newcastle United and Liverpool, has been told by Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard, that it is unlikely that he will be returning to the club.

Speaking to sports daily Sport on Wednesday Rijkaard stated:

'He is a great player, he has a contract with Barca and we are evaluating the situation to try and resolve it at present.'

'Unfortunately we have to work a with a small squad and not with 40 players.'

Along with long standing Premiership interest Saviola is also wanted by Primera Liga club Atletico Madrid.
