Former Italy goalkeeper Walter Zenga is being linked with a move to Derby to take up the vacant managerial role. He is said to be on the short list of people to take over from the departed George Burley.

He will not be the first Italian to be in the employ of Derby, Fabrizio Ravanelli enjoyed a stint at the club.

But they face competition for the 45 year old, who has an offer from Serie A strugglers Chievo Verona, who are keen to bring Zenga back to his homeland.

He has been out of work since being sacked by Steaua Bucharest just days before the club won the Romanian title.
