Chelsea lose out to AC Milan

Chelsea target Kakha Kaladze has done an about turn and signed a new five-year contract with AC Milan, the club said on Thursday. Kaladze was hotly tipped to arrive at Stamford Bridge, possibly as part of any Crespo deal.

He only managed 19 appearances last season and could see his chances restricted even further with the arrival of Czech international left-back and midfielder Marek Jankulovski.

This could however just turn out to be a bargaining ploy by AC Milan, who had risked seeing the player leave on a free and can now demand a transfer fee.
