Chelsea in new 50 million bid

Sources in Italy claim that Chelsea are just waiting for the new owners to take charge at Parma before offering them in excess of 50 million euros for star striker and Italian international Alberto Gilardino.

They have bid big money in Italy before, but have so far been unsuccessful in their bids to secure the likes of Shevchenko, Adriano and Eto`o.

But this time Roman Abramovich is said to be preparing an offer that the new Parma bosses will find very difficult to turn down.
