Figo refuses to be drawn on future plans

With Spurs, Newcastle United, Bolton and a host of other top European sides waiting in the wings Portuguese midfielder Luis Figo refused to be drawn on where he would be playing next season when questioned after a fund-raising match at Faro in the name of his Foundation.

The event which Figo organized was attended by Florentino Perez, whom Figo met at the Florentino Perez at Hotel Vila Sol Spa & Golf Resort, attempting to calm talk of friction between the two of them over the course of the last few weeks.

"Perez just came to support the match and I thank him and some of my team-mates who take part in it," Figo said.

"For my future, all I will say is that there remains one more year in my contract with Real Madrid.”
