Valencia star to move to european champions

Liverpool have succeeded in hijacking Everton's move for Valencia star Mohamed Sissoko. The Mali The international midfielder had seemed poised to join Everton after The Toffees had thrashed out a €7.4 million deal with their Spanish counterparts.

But rivals Liverpool have jumped in, in the last hour, and the Mali international prefers a move to the reds, although Sissoko would have been prepared to play for Everton, and he was going to fly to merseyside for a medical and agree personal terms early next week, but it now looks like he will be doing his medical across the other side of the town.


Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez is an obvious admirer of the striker, who bought him 2 years ago when he was the Valencia manager, Sissoko has shown glimpses of what he can do, and has a very big potential.


But with, Milan Baros, Morientes and Djibrel Cisse already pushing for a starting place, Sissoko will have to work hard to firstly get a place then keep it in the Liverpool starting XI


Reds boss Benitez submitted an €8 million offer for the African and Sissoko has decided that a move to Anfield is more appealing.

Sissoko is expected to sign a four-year contract with Liverpool and should arrive in England early next week for a medical.
