Ajax Still Hopeful Of Keeping Pienaar

Dutch giants Ajax are still hopeful of holding on to one of their biggest stars, Steven Pienaar. Pienaar's contract runs until next summer and he already let Ajax know that a move away from Amsterdam isn't unthinkable.

Ajax and Pienaar held various talks about renewing his current deal in the past, but Pienaar wasn't satisfied with the contract Ajax offered.

"We will start talks again in the near future with Steven" told New director of football, Martin Van Geel the 'Algemeen Dagblad'.

He added to that: "we want to keep Steven at Ajax, he is a fantastic player and there is a bright future ahead of him at Ajax".

Steven Pienaar were being linked to FC Porto, Benfica and Everton in recent months.
